Macwood products have evolved over the last 30 years as a result
of close
cooperation with architects, developers and building owners.
The policy has always been to create a product which meets the
building needs, satisfies the requirements of current legislation
and yet in no way compromises the essential aesthetics of building
design.
Macwood products include automatic and low energy door controls
to promote access for all, ‘Fly-Open’ door and window
operators for smoke ventilation, door hold-open devices, fail-safe
air driven bolts (including one for rail-less glass doors), interlock
assemblies, spark free controls for hazardous areas and a host
of ancillary items. All products can be integrated into complete
systems where required and can be linked into BMS/ access/ fire
controls. Air driven products are clean, quiet and reliable. In fact, where
fail-safe or low energy operators are required, they have no equal.
It is our firm belief that, as more and more designers come to
recognise the benefits attached to air products, they will specify
them for use in almost every building of importance.
The Macwood range of products includes four main categories for
swing door operators including: access for the disabled, fire
systems (‘Fly-Open’), underfloor door drives and
locking systems.
The Macwood patented ‘Fly-Open’ control system automatically
opens manually operated double or single action self-closing
doors in the event of a fire. This facilitates escape and provides
essential ventilation for the building’s smoke extraction
system. The door may be 90° or 180° opening. The range
of ‘Fly-Open’ swing door operators provide solutions
for a wide range of applications. |

Swing door controls are ideal for use in both existing and new
buildings where users require assistance to pass through a door.
Macwood can provide underfloor low energy
‘Slow-Open’ automatic / manual self-closing door
operators. These concealed operators are ideal for providing
unimpeded access for everyone, including those with disabilities
without compromising building aesthetics. Our underfloor range
also includes ‘Fly-Open’ operators for emergency
situations and
smoke ventilation. |
Macwood PSB bolts will suit both single and double action doors,
including toughened glass doors without rails.
Within the range, there are bolts for floor or transom mounting,
as well as through bolts to work in conjunction with either top or
bottom bolts. The equipment is compatible with most access control
systems and can be integrated to work with all Macwood swing door
operators. Because they can be controlled pneumatically, PSB bolts
can be installed in potentially hazardous or explosive environments.
